Revised 2025/26 GMS contract for GPs - beware the headline figures:

GP practices will see an average net 4.2% increase to their funding per patient with the new 2025/26 contract changes. This will amount to between £7.52 and £8.52p per patient. These are the net figures once the headline 7.9% increase has taken into account fix cost increases such as the increase in National Living Wage and NI increases for employers. ( CPI inflation over past 12 months - 3%) Also, QOF income may be more difficult to earn due to changes in indicators / thresholds.

Clearly, these increases will not stabilise General Practice and must be a short term stepping stone to an adequately funded new GMS contract which GPCE are negotiating.
